Harvey Long
2026 John Smartt Summer Scholar
Harvey Long is a doctoral student in the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is a Lester Asheim Fellow in Library Science. He earned his Master of Arts in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Winston-Salem State University. His research interests focus on the histories of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and how HBCU students engage with libraries.
