NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., August 4, 2026 – The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI) is hosting its inaugural MSI Humanities Leadership Academy forum from Wednesday, August 5th, to Friday, August 7th, in Princeton, NJ. The three-day forum will convene experienced academic leaders from across MSIs to work closely with current and former humanities department chairs.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., July 1, 2026 - A new report addresses the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) cancellation of discretionary grant programs (Title III and Title V) for Minority Serving Institutions in Fall 2025. Authors Rebecca Perdomo, Melissa Salazar, and Stephanie Aguilar-Smith explore the impact of this decision on Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) that lost a total of $507.9 million in grants and its overall effect on the students they serve.

The program consists of a two-day forum, which will be held from Wednesday, October 14, 2026, to Friday, October 16, 2026, and a one-and-a-half-year mentoring program that connects prominent Minority Serving Institution (MSI) presidential leaders with mid-career aspiring leaders in an effort to prepare the next generation of MSI presidents.
