Matilda Diebel

Matilda Diebel is a first-generation college student, pursuing a B.A. in English and American Literature at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She was a recipient of the Engage and Accelerated Scholarships and the UTEP Promise Grant. Matilda studied abroad in the Lake District of England. She experienced life in the Lake District, and how this area inspired romantic literature and poets. It was this experience that peaked Matilda’s interest in women in the Romantic Era. She intends to pursue a Ph.D. with an emphasis in Romantic Literature.
