Qiwei Chen
Qiwei Chen is a first-generation immigrant and college student, majoring in kinesiology with a pre-med concentration at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Qiwei aspires to become a military doctor and has a desire to help others achieve their highest quality of life. She considers herself a lifelong learner and a civically engaged citizen dedicated to helping others. As a full-time pre-med student at UTSA, Qiwei is highly involved on campus. She currently serves on the President’s Student Advisory Council, a committee that reports directly to the university president and provides diverse insights into the student experience at UTSA. She is also a member of the Honor’s College and was selected as the College Dean’s Ambassador. She currently serves as the president for Student Veteran Association UTSA Chapter, coordinator of the UTSA Ambassadors organization, a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta national pre-health honor society, and a member in the Pre-Med Society. Qiwei is extremely thrilled to participate in the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship 2019 cohort. She is committed to providing service, and leadership and prides herself in always upholding integrity within her community and plans to do the same while abroad.
