Tailisha Gonzalez

Tailisha Gonzalez is the Director of the Public Health Program at Lehman College, where she serves as Assistant Professor in the School of Health Sciences, Human Services, and Nursing. Gonzalez is the Principal Investigator of the Public Health Impact Lab (Lehman-PHIL), leading a team of social scientists in innovative interdisciplinary research, novel approaches to implementation science, and authentic community engagement. Her research program focuses on social, behavioral, and structural determinants of cardiovascular health, with an emphasis on women in insecure, low-earning occupations. She earned her PhD in Public Health from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, with a concentration in Community, Society, and Health. Gonzalez also holds an MPH in Urban Public Health from Hunter College, an MS in Nonprofit Management from The New School, and a BA in Latino Studies and Political Science from Columbia University. She previously worked in non-profit agencies and hospitals in New York City for over 20 years, advancing health education, community organizing, and HIV prevention initiatives.
