Sharon Herzberger
Sharon Herzberger was named President Emerita of Whittier College (CA) following her thirteen-year tenure leading one of the nation’s most diverse private liberal arts colleges. Following faculty roles at Northwestern University and Trinity College (CT), Sharon served as Trinity’s special assistant to the president for affirmative action, associate vice president for the college's campaign, vice president for student services, and vice president for institutional planning and administration. She also founded the Consortium on High Achievement and Success (CHAS), a group of selective, private liberal arts colleges and universities dedicated to institutional transformation to promote student success. She has authored numerous articles and two books. Sharon has served on the boards of NAICU (National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and CIC (Council of Independent Colleges), and chaired the President’s Council of NCAA Division III. She currently serves as a senior consultant for Academic Search and as a member of the five-person HCRC/Reinstitute, helping colleges and universities develop and implement institutional strategy and financial sustainability. Sharon holds a bachelor's degree from Penn State and master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois.
