Sevaughn Banks

Sevaughn Banks earned a Ph.D. in Social Work, with a concentration in Administration and Policy. Currently, she is a Professor of Social Work and a globally recognized curriculum and workforce development expert with more than 25 years of management experience across government, academic, and civic settings. Her work includes global initiatives in Ghana, Liberia, and Nigeria, as well as extensive human services management in the United States. As a child welfare workforce development expert in California, she led teams who conceived, developed, implemented, and evaluated curriculum serving tens of thousands of child welfare professionals.
Over her career, Banks has collaborated with students, faculty, administrators, and global partners to secure scholarships and grant funding, advance women’s reproductive health and research, and produce peer-reviewed publications. She designed, executed, and assessed hundreds of curricular offerings for thousands of professionals across fields, including human rights, child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, practicum education, workforce readiness, and social-emotional learning. Her work emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and capacity building through sustained partnerships.
