Olivia M. Blackmon

Olivia M. Blackmon has her Ph.D. in Sociology with a concentration in Education Policy and advanced quantitative methods. She currently is the Asst. Program Director and Asst. Professor at The George Washington University school of Integrated, Information Science & Technology. Dr. Blackmon also serves as a Senior Advisor to the United Nations Global Impact forum for West Africa, the Sr. Country Advisor for Open International in Senegal, and the Board President of Ajeah, a NGO based in Togo to support equal educational opportunities for children. Previously, she has served as the Director of Research at Thurgood Marshall College Fund and conducted research on STEM initiatives at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States and Brazil. She has consulted with USAID, World Vision, the United Nations, and UNICEF to design, implement, and measure high-impact STEM, reading literacy, and humanitarian programs throughout East and South Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
