Michael R. Beazley

Michael R. Beazley, Ph.D., is Dean of Student Affairs at Lake Superior State University. Having worked abroad for eight years, he is interested in increasing diversity among study abroad students and the role of study abroad experiences in students' development as socially responsible leaders. Beazley's dissertation focused on leadership development among Black/ African American undergraduate students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly White Institutions. His research interests include leadership development and study abroad, particularly within the HBCU context. Beazley earned bachelor’s degrees in music and theology from Loyola University Chicago, a master’s degree in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Michigan State University, and a PhD in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago.
