Luis Fernando Macías

Luis Fernando Macías is an Associate Professor of Chicano and Latin American Studies at California State University, Fresno. His expertise is in multicultural education, immigration, and Latinx Studies. His scholarship focuses on the racialization of immigrant students and undocumented students’ academic pursuits. His work has been featured in the Journal of Higher Education and Equity & Excellence in Education. Previously, he was a Board of Immigration Appeals Accredited Representative and worked with community organizations to organize several educational summer camps for immigrant and refugee youth in Columbus, Ohio. In his current role, he collaborates closely with student advocacy groups like MEChA and the DREAM Success Center at Fresno State to support their mission of student success.
