John M. Lee
John Michael Lee, Jr. is the Vice President for the Office of Access and Success at APLU. He is responsible for implementing a national agenda to improve readiness, access and outcomes for students and help transform member institutions through the use of quality research, effective advocacy and policy, outcome-based convening’s, and complex initiatives to transform universities. Under his leadership, the office has established a national reputation of quality publications, created national initiatives, increased fundraising, expanded collaborations and increased the engagement of minority-serving institutions at APLU. John is the author of the book, American Higher Education without Public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (2011), and he has published several peer-reviewed journal articles. John earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from New York University, a MPA from Georgia State University, and a B.S. in computer engineering from Florida A&M University.
