Daniel Corral

Daniel (Danny) Corral is an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto. At OISE, Danny teaches courses on the student experience, postsecondary finance, and evaluation. His research broadly examines to what extent policies and interventions affect inequality in U.S. and Canadian higher education. Danny draws on theoretical perspectives from sociology and public policy to conduct research using methods of causal inference and qualitative interviews. His current research focuses on 1) choice and enrollment in postsecondary education for students who have been historically and persistently underrepresented 2) funding policies and practices affecting U.S. Minority-Serving Institutions, and 3) student persistence and postgraduate outcomes of the Canadian community college students. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his B.A. from Beloit College in Secondary Education and History. Danny is also a proud Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
