Daga Nyang

Daga Nyang is a student of English at Florida International University (FIU). She was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, but has resided in Pembroke Pines for the majority of her life. She is the oldest and only daughter in a family of four, an experience that leads to the inevitable formation of her feminist consciousness. She has harbored a lifelong affection for books and is most drawn to narratives of black female experience as well as stories of the sublime. Her academic interests remain amorphous as she acquires new interests along the course of her learning. In fact, the primary drive behind her educational pursuits is a genuine interest in and love of learning, which she believes to be instrumental in the formation of her various ideological processes and, by extension, her personal identity. She remains eager for what the future has in store for her.
