Chioma Ezeh-Kehinde

Chioma C. Ezeh-Kehinde is an Assistant Professor of Literacy and Educational Technology and the Elementary Education Program Coordinator at Elizabeth City State University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy and educational technology and has led the development of science-of-reading–aligned coursework approved by the University of North Carolina system. Ezeh-Kehinde’s research lies at the intersection of early reading development, asset-based pedagogy, and the effective integration of educational technology and artificial intelligence to support instruction. Her seed-grant–funded research examines how literacy teachers contextualize the Science of Reading in linguistically and culturally diverse schools. Her scholarship has been disseminated through 11 peer-reviewed journal articles and 24 presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. Her work and leadership have been recognized with several honors and awards, including the ECSU Excellence in Online Teaching Award, the WSU Dissertation Year Fellowship, the George B. Brain Administrative Leadership Award, and the Laurence J. Peter Memorial Graduate Fellowship in Teacher Education. In addition to her academic research, Ezeh-Kehinde brings experience in educational assessment and research through her work with the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and New Meridian Corporation. Drawing on experience across K–12 classrooms, teacher education, and educational research, Ezeh-Kehinde is committed to translating research into practical, context-responsive strategies that educators can immediately apply, particularly in linguistically and culturally diverse classrooms. She is dedicated to empowering teachers and improving literacy outcomes for diverse learners.
