Alisa Fowler

Alisa Fowler is a sophomore at Paul Quinn College (PQC) in Dallas, TX. She is a first-generation college student from Chicago, IL., and is majoring in Legal Studies. Alisa graduated as one of the top ten students in her high school graduating class and was a member of the National Honor Society, later named the president of her local chapter as a high school senior. During her first semester at Paul Quinn College, she earned a spot on the President’s Honor Roll and was recently named one of 12 Paul Quinn College Presidential Scholars, earning a full-ride college scholarship. Shortly thereafter, she was asked to join the PQC Plano cohort, a selective and rigorous group of Paul Quinn College students chosen to expand the nationally recognized urban work college model beyond the borders of Dallas, TX. Alisa has served as a Teaching Assistant to PQC President Michael Sorrell, a Resident Assistant on the PQC Plano Campus, she earned a spot in the competitive Paul Quinn College Corporate Work Program as an intern for NTT Data Services Inc., and recently she was selected as a participant in the Duke North Texas Alumni Association/Paul Quinn College student mentoring program. She dreams of one day being a voice of reformation in the American justice system; inspiring ethical and upright practices that promote better equality for those suffering from systemic poverty. She is excited to study in London, England, and is grateful for the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions and CIEE; during her travels, she hopes to gain more knowledge of police duties in different cultures and on a global scale as she prepares for a life of service.
